    You press the bearing on first using a large ass socket as close to the same outer diameter of the bearing. then you lube up the seal with oil and press that on. Then you can install the retainer, then install the pully

    How is someone like this assembling a motor. Atleast hire someone so they can show you how to do it properly. No wonder you blow up so many engines. Sometimes the truth hurts. Also all i see is a video with you d1cking around with a few parts and not actually doing anything to make this build happen. Not to mention this rotary vette build seems silly af anyway.

    I don't think it has been mentioned, there are TWO needle bearings that can be out of place. There is one behind the thrust plate. You need to remove the six bolts on the stat gear and remove the plate to inspect. If your careful, you can just remove the thrust spacer and see the bearing from there. I thing what your doing is cool!

    This is all working out well, but every time something is said about how much stress is going through the front cover engine mount, I keep thinking it's not going to be a problem, because you have that massive bazooka transmitting the torque to the transaxle, so minimum torque reaction should be going into the engine mounts at the front.

    Hilarious. Dahm is always giving “physics lessons” but I’ve seen him on several occasions disconnect batteries positive cable first. Install seals backwards. This dude is a troll. I like the content. Props for doing something different. I will be pointing and laughing when this high dollar billet rotary blows up like all of his other Doritos. Make sure the car is corner weighed when it’s all finished and running to put the LS/rotary weight dispute to rest. 🤘🏻

    you put in the radial shaft seal backward. Also never ever "press" in a bearing like that. You can use a hammer but you need to make sure that you don't put any force on the bearing balls. In this application, you should have pressed in the bearing by pushing on the outer ring. (if you were pressing it onto a shaft you would use the inner ring)

    NO!!!! That oil seal is in the wrong way! Now it will need to be removed and reinstalled again. The oil will go everywhere.

    Tial is a stand up company, I bought MVS wastegates and one of the plugs on the boost reference ports vibrated off (I should have locktight them) I cocntacted them wanting to buy the plugs and they sent me some for free. Amazing customer support

The flat side always goes out and the side that has that tiny spring always goes towards the oil or grease side EDIT: I didn't read other comments until after posting this....     A rotary Vette is the exact opposite of a LS swapped RX7... People LS swap RX7s because it’s a relatively cheap, powerful engine with off the shelf parts readily available and that often makes the car quicker even with the engine in stock form. This is taking a less durable engine, that has to be modded to match the original engine’s power, that takes a bunch of expensive billet one off pieces to fit, and will likely make the car slower. This is essentially someone swapping a turbo Honda motor into a Supra because they like the inline 4 noises better.

    So painful to watch all these simple mistakes, but I appreciate your efforts! Make sure to reassemble the front cover, check the needle bearing and check end play. Also, if you put the engine on an engine stand with the front cover facing up, theres less risk of dropping that needle bearing. Good luck! Can't wait to see this thing run!

    LOL, that isn't a billet engine. That is a billet bolt on to a cast engine. Also your boost spring explanation is totally wrong. If you are using an electronic boost controller, you can use the smallest spring available, not the spring closest to the boost pressure you want. The boost controller will regulate how much air is allowed into the hat, so you only need a 1 lb spring to keep the wastegate closed, as it will stay 1 lb more than the rest of the system until it needs to open.

    The bearing doesnt fall out everytime you pull the shaft foward, seriously as long as you dont remove the counterweight or pull it foward which i believe wont happen with the gear on.

    Yeah but that bearing is designed to handle the load being put on it by the shaft being out 8 inches with a load leaning on it, i mean more than likely, your argument is understandable though but i think unless yout putting something it wasnt designed to handle then its when you should consider adding further support, my guess if it had an alternator there before when the engine was designed the engineers picked a bearing capable of handling the added weight

    btw, coming from Audi turbos... Plumbing the bypass valve back into the intake tract, means you don't vent metered air. Generally better for fuel-air ratio. Sure, you'll still get lean-rich spikes, but not to the same extent.

    Let's see where do I start. First the bearing behind the counter balancer at the front of the engine is called a Torrington bearing. Then he installs the thing he called "it's like the wax ring on your toilet" actually a simple oil seal backwards. Also noticed the two "sponsored" items from Tial are clearly marked "NOT FOR RESALE". Companies usually do that on sample parts not sponsored parts. I have no idea how this guy has 546K subs as he clearly doesn't know what he is doing. This will be my first and last visit to this channel. Oh BTW don't bother clicking on the link to his "SHOP" as it nothing but a shell site for selling his overpriced tee shirt.

    Is there a gasket for between the holes on that billet water adapter? All I see is one big o-ring for around the outside and nothing in the middle to separate the holes at the iron. Look at a factory water pump housing gasket. There is a piece of gasket that keeps the coolant flowing in one direction. Without a gasket in the middle the cooler coolant going in can mix with the hotter coolant going out. Big design flaw! Also at 7:40 you had the engine hoist chain on the front iron stud with no nut. Then at the 9:58 there was a washer and a nut on the stud. I guarantee the chain slid off that stud and we didn't get to see it. After that I was just waiting for that stud to bend or break.
