What's happening is a general breakdown in authority. There's really no authority left that will provide a check to this lunacy. Black criminals get shot trying to assault cops and get the hero treatment. States pass laws legalizing weed while the federal laws are still on the books - as though they are meaningless. I benefit from these law changes myself (puff puff) but i can't help but be shocked at the disparity. At one time a federal law 'trumped' state law and most wouldn't argue about it. Everyone was familiar with "the law of the land". We're pretty much heading towards anarchy.

This reminds me of the 50's McCarthy era - the whole country went bonkers over the RED SCARE. Everyone was being accused of being a commie. Finally a few sensible lawmakers faced down McCarthy and made everyone think and the whole thing died on the vine. These days, everyone's a Nazi if they don't agree with you. But where are our sensible saviors now?

Then shortly after that the girl I was with who was so fucking cool started talking all this bullshit about how nothing is every her fault and just a bunch of nonsense she read in a magazine. My life has been vastly different ever since unfortunately.

I disagree that it didn't exist before 2014. I would say it started as far back as 2009 or so, once social media use became really prominent. Maybe it didn't exist in an institutionalize form on college campuses, but it was certainly part of the discourse in my Facebook and Twitter feeds.

He says "in most non-elite schools not much is happening" but you have to be careful. Because even random local state universities have diversity programs that push out "Diversity memos" like recommending you use "xe and xir" instead of "him and her". (Getting taxpayer money!) And you also have the HUGE BACKLASH to the campaign of writing "it's okay to be white" on a piece of paper and posting it around campus. My local campus's staff completely CRAPPED THEMSELVES over the proof of "White supremacy" on campus. They wrote a memo to ALL EMPLOYEES of the college, and had "meetings" to discuss how to save the school. These people didn't become crazy the day before or day of that event. They were simmering in "crazy person" stew for years and this is just one of the most obvious examples. The thing is, they're constantly doing their SJW outrage and policies in less obvious ways. You don't magically become SJW overnight and only react to "evil pieces of paper". You attack departments who push against your ideology. You get people fired you don't like. You take away student funding for kids who speak against your tyranny. Fun fact: That same school that lost it over evil words on paper, also had "positive sex" days where they showed people dildos and how to have the best sex, including BDSM stuff. And I'm not kink shaming, but they have no problems talking about butt penetration but someone writing "it's okay to be white" on a piece of paper shocks them to the core? The answer is simple: They're a new religion. The D.I.E. (diversity, inclusion, equity) religion, which Gad Saad mentioned and is writing a book about. When you view their actions as one defending religion, all their emotional reactions ("football fighting instead of truth seeking") becomes pretty understandable.

The first I heard the term SJW had to do with the live action Ghost In The Shell. People complained that it was Hollywood white washing to cast ScarJo. They really tried to tear this movie down on all fronts and were successful i think as this very good movie did not do well at the box office. Now I forget who it was but someone took a camera to japan and asked people on the street about it, and they did not care at all. The first comment in fact was, "But if they cast a Japanese she would not look anime." So this term, used right, would mean someone who makes a mountain out of a molehill over a social topic. However, over time I noticed this term is now used to take anything anyone on the Left says as bad. Cast someone in a film that is not white and that is SJW. Avengers Endgame there were all women characters on screen at once and that's SJW. Ironically, it's the Right making mountains out of molehills on these topics.

You have to pay attention, not to walk into the kind of mentality that have elected the far right here in Brazil... what you, especially, north americans, need to pay attention to is that this angle, that the left took over schools, and have an endoctrinative agenda, is a very dangerous mistake. the educators have access to leftist ideas, cause it permeates academia, as much as the right ideas does... When transmiting culture, education, it´s impossible not to manifest opinions, but no one changes another peoples inclination in a classroom... the problem causing this crisis, is not about endoctrination. it´s about fear. the fear culture has spreaded it´s seeds, and it´s growing to form this kind of agressive, reactive culture.

There are some questionable gaps in his understanding. The reality is that the University changed in the 1860s with the beginning of graduate education in the U.S. and importation of ideas and professors from Europe, especially Germany. It festered there for a hundred years until it exploded out into the wider culture in the 1960's. From there the Universities just got worst adopting all the innovations of Continental philosophy giving rise to gender studies and all the types of associated courses. 2014 might be a year when this all manifested more openly but it's only a year like 1968. The phenomenon itself, as it presents itself in the U.S. goes back to the start of graduate school education and the importation of liberal philosophy then present. Ultimately this liberalism can be traced back to Eupricius with its European reinvention coming from the likes of Machiavelli, Spinoza and the like.

This entire convo ignores the economical developments and situation since the 80's in the relation of the middle and lower class. Guess what, people become SJW Socialists when you stagnate their wages below inflation and essentially give companies more rights than individuals to the point banks can commit mass fraud and make the tax payer pay for it while those in charge face not a day in jail let alone a fine. "When will this end ?" Marked as the most popular comment, really ? you guys don't know how to end this ? Come on you do, just that you don't want to pay the personal cost, because if 1000 people have to suffer poverty so you can live in luxury, you are okay with it and will hide behind "individual liberty" citing Classical Liberal ideals you do not understand, because that very same liberty obligates you to ensure other people enjoy such liberties. Most of you have embraced this "me me me" consumer culture and are now bitching about the by products you created yourselves by doing so. Most of you have forgotten that your personal liberty comes with a incredible amount of personal responsibility, responsibility you have failed to take and that's why you have SJW's. You have no-one but yourselves to blame.

The media choose to report it as a racial incident similar to those in the 1950s and 60s, as opposed to what it actually was - a criminal black mid who roughed up a store clerk and attacked a cop. Blame the media for the past 7ish year firestorm, built on lie after lie

I personally experienced this at a peaceful conservative talk with Charlie Kirk at UCONN. A professor at the school told her students to purposely reserve spaces at the talk and not arrive. Nothing discussed in the talk was by any means racist, bigoted nor “far-right”. What I experienced was real debate between individuals with different views and peaceful discussion of conservative ideas. Then we went outside to be welcomed by a parade of students shouting “bigot, racist go away, bigot racist go away”. They should’ve attended and talked with us as opposed to screaming at us as we walked to our cars. Real solutions require maturity.

Got my appointment strictly because I did OK on my SAT's as an enlisted Marine with a solid recommendation from my CO as having good potential to serve as a Naval Officer; Observed same stuff while i was there. Best instructors/profs I had there were military officers serving in a non Fleet billet.. Worst were the the long time, tenured, civilian professors, some of whom had no business "teaching" at all, much less in military environment. I was a PoliSci guy focused on Civil-Military Relations, National Securiity Policy in that major, and even then the leftist influence among civilian profs was unbelievable. Even just out of cold war. Was foreshadowing. Never a scholar, even I can see how academia has become bastardized over time.
