Brett Kollmann, the difference between Kyler Murray and Josh Rosen is immeasurable. The former is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game and the latter can't be mentioned in the same breath with him. You can't even put Darnold, Rosen, Allen on the same level as Mahomes, Watson and Mayfield. Murray's ability to run and pass at the highest level, makes him a never before seen dual threat pro quarterback. Neither Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady's college stats can compare to Murray's!

Ok. Again, I loved the breakdown. When it comes to Arizona though, their draft didn't help their biggest weakness which was their offensive line. They did grab some help at WR but I think they could have done better. What I like least about the mesh/rub play is that it needs time to develop. A blitz with a DE dropping into pass coverage could cause this play to have to be thrown short. In that case, normally the safety valve, whether it be a TE or a RB probably doesn't get where he needs to be to make a play. For that reason, I like Murray better for this offense, but I still don't think that Murray's talents warranted a #1 draft pick. You made a lot of valid points that I really liked. I thought a lot of the QBs named in this video would do well in the NFL. Maybe they did need a more friendly system to be effective as you hinted on. To be honest, most of these QBs, in my opinion, never lived up to where they were drafted. The LBs in the NFL are not only bigger, they are faster, too. The biggest problem to me really is how to handle that blitz, especially if an edge rusher on one side has a responsibility to drop into coverage. A lot of what we saw was against Big 12 defenses... the NFL defenses will be much better, much faster, and that makes me see the QB looking for a running lane a lot of the times. The play simply takes too much time to develop and I think they will need at least 3 years to be successful. That being said, I have to throw Kingsbury's NFL coaching experience into the mix: NONE! I also have to take his head coaching record into the mix: He has been successful only in high school and has a sub .500 record as a head coach even if his offenses were considered prolific. If you want to call them prolific, then you have to see almost no running game out of their offense. That has only worked in the NFL with a QB named Tom Brady. I still loved the breakdown and the evolving of the mesh route which can be run out of many sets and even with different personnel packages. You really make a great case. I just can't buy into it and I foresee the Cardinals as a last place team MAYBE for the next 3 years. I thought their draft was truly awful starting with pick #1. If you are correct, the Kyler Murray pick was a complete mistake. Now, they are stuck with it and the news that I have seen lately has hinted at Murray not even being given the starting job while Rosen is gone. Great job on the breakdown once again. I am sure this CAN be successful, despite my comments. I just can't see how a college coach with an all-time losing record is just going to bring the Cardinals back, especially when they took a QB they didn't need and spent no early picks at OL in a draft that was very defense heavy. If they wanted Kingsbury and the air raid, I still think they should have grabbed Bosa at #1 and spent their next 2 picks on O-lineman. There were quality receivers as good as the ones they grabbed left in the 5th round and later. Too bad it may take 3 years to see how dumb I may have just sounded through all of that. Good luck. Great video.

Honestly... I loved the breakdown and I gave this a thumbs up. However, my faith in Kliff Kingsbury as a coach and my faith of this air-raid really working in the NFL are not very high. I am an old dude and I know football very well. I even knew the coaching tree that was spoken of before watching this. Comments will come soon as I still don't believe this can be very effective in the NFL. First, I have to watch this breakdown again. Whether I agree or not, this video was a great breakdown and I absolutely loved it. I can only give one thumbs up though. Sorry about that.

If they made Kingsbury an offensive coordinator I think it would work out better. Problem is even though his offenses put up decent numbers, his teams were never great. So the only thing i knew about Kingsbury before this was that he had a losing record or at least got fired by his college team. And that he's hooking up with holly sonders from fox sports. I don't think any variation of the run and shoot will work in the nfl long term. Great d coordinators usually figure out there weak points after half a season.

I worry about Kyler Murray's health at Zona. He was fantastic in a clean pocket and yes has great escape ability but the Sooners had 4 starting oline players drafted between rd 2 and 4 with the still a Sooner likely to drafted down the road and he had a pair of NFL future WR's Brown went 25th to the Ravens even injured would have gone higher healthy and I think Lamb who is still at Oklahoma will also be a 1st or 2nd pick. Murray will actually have a less capable oline. They drafted well at WR with Isabella, Butler added to Kirk and Fitzgerald and I think stole Caleb Wilson who should be used as an H-Back and thrive.

the first and only time I knew of this(obviously I am a total know nothing) was Peyton Manning and the Colts. It was written that their pass offense was so simple but that the receivers ran options and that they were all on the same page in reading defenses. its unstoppable with smart players. That being said I could be a Fulbright scholar and in no way be able to read a defense in the short time that these QBs and WRs do. this FB IQ is a different thing

Tbh that offensive line needs to get way better if they want to give a short quarterback time in the pocket they are playing a dangerous game with Kylers career. The reason Im saying is because Kylers whole career his offensive line has been amazing. If defense can get pressure in his face and contain his scrambling they can essentially shut him down but you never know i might be wrong

Over the years there have been many teams, coaches who have run some version of the Air Raid style of offense.. Long long ago it was called Air Coryell. . San Diego Coach style.. There was also the team from Houston back when it was called the Oilers.. and Warren Moon as QB ran that version of Air Raid.. and they had some talented wide outs, White shoes Johnson ect.. There also have been other coaches who ran some versions as well, such as Florida with Coach Steve Spurrier.. which often was a 5 wide out deal for him.. he would simply say.. go ahead and rush more then we can cover because we will find the open receiver.. I myself believe in a balanced offense.. that is either 2 Tight Ends and 2 Wide outs and 1 Running Back or, 3 wide outs, 1 Tight End, and 1 Running Back.. but I think the best is the 3 wide outs, 1 TE, and 1 RB.. and moving them around is key to getting miss matches.. and to flooding a zone.. example.. you can line up a TE on the right and put the slot on that same side, that gives you 3 options on the right side.. and a 4th if you also get that RB in the passing game on that side as well.. that is a miss match for the defense.. and what will the defense do.. double cover the single wide out on the left side or single cover him? And that is also why such players as TJ Hockenson and Noah Fant were so highly sought after this year.. why they went high in the draft.. because their talent will ensure that they can both run the ball and pass the ball with good efficiency.. with the Crossing routes.. I would think when you see it coming.. if you are in man and you see the other guy coming from the other side as well.. you should be able to simply zone it out, just wait for the other guys wide out to come to you.. then you do not get a rub .. so when the ball is snapped and you see your guy cut to the middle.. simply look to see what if anything is coming from the other side.. if there is, then you just pass off your coverage to the other side and vise versa.. Anyway, Loved your video..

Offense wins games! Defense wins championships! Football is entertainment for the fan and business for the coaches and players. As a fan, I enjoy watching the high flying air raid offense. It’s exciting and entertaining. Miraculous plays happen at any given moment making it fun to watch. Football is changing you have to adapt with the changes are you will get left behind. The team that properly uses the air raid offense with a balance running game will succeed. Keep in mind, when Oklahoma played Georgia they ran all over Georgia and the Dawgs didn’t know what hit them. They finally realized run the ball and keep the offense off the field. Their D can’t stop anyone. Bama was fortunate that OU couldn’t run the ball due to all their backs were hurt, no running game. Clemson balanced both and look what they did. Bama had no answers and were being stunned left and right. The coaches who realize the pass and run must play off each other will have success. The coaches who have no patience and lean on the pass only will fail. It will be fun to watch all this evolve over the next few years.

counter-point: Kingsbury is not ready for NFL defenses. A lot of the highlights meant to prove his point are crappy defensive plays. A lot of the QBs in his tree from the Air Raid were garbage in the NFL. What will Kingsbury do when his crappy defense gives up 21 in the first half and teams just play dime the rest of the game? These are just a few reasons that this theory is suspect.

its really hard to justify the cardinals D giving up that many points for the reason of how much they have bolstered their defense in the Off season and in the draft, the addition of Murphy and Alford as rotational is going to be one of the best duos in the league with P2, my only concern is nkemdiche, they need to get that man out of there, he is utter garbage and has been a hype job since he entered the league

After years of dominating he got his chance to coach in the NFL and he took it. Steve was expected to bring in his very popular and potent Air Raid Dominate offense which he did and like Kingsbury, Steve was given full control over the team and it’s picks well that Air Raid Offense got chewed up and spit out by defense’s around the league immediately he never had a good season as a head coach in the NFL and I don’t think Cliff Kingsbury will either

You can't gimmick your way through NFL defenses, Kingsbury's Cardinal receiving corp is nowhere near as explosive as the Sooner receivers that Kyler had last season. Neglecting the fact that defenses are abysmal in the Big XII. It's a lot easier to make big plays when you constantly have windows being opened by the other team. NFL defenses are nothing like college. It will be exceptionally more difficult for Murray to perform, especially considering how aggressive Kingsbury is. The only good defense Murray played against was Alabama and he didn't score at all in the first quarter of that game.

Just like noone was ready for Chip Kelley's offense. It only took them a few games to figure him out. Same will happen here. Kingsbury wont have a winning season in the NFL.

I would say Steve Spurrier was more of a pioneer of the spread/air raid offense than Mike Leach was..

Not buying anything from a coach who was fired from his college coaching job to become a college coordinator. More successful college coaches have failed in the NFL. Chip Kelly, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, etc. Plus, the Cardinals are short on talent and just used the #1 pick to replace a QB who looked bad when thrown into a meat grinder. Brady and Rogers would have looked bad on the Cardinals last year too.

Youth. The NFL might not be ready but they will adjust. And they will adjust so much faster than you can imagine. NFL = NOT FOR LONG The Cardinals will remain a dumpster fire for the foreseeable future. They seriously mishandled the Rosen debacle and hurt themselves and their own future with their antics.

Jason N It’s not close to the worse they just have to stay healthy. Humphries, Pugh and Gilbert are all above average for their positions and Gilbert is actually one of the best at RT.

Mouse Davis and June Jones had a similar offense. Your QB, at times, takes a pounding. Ask Jeff George. George didn't llike it at all. In this offense, the tightend is a wide receiver and if the defense has a fast DE/OLB, offense will stumble and your QB will get pounded early and often.

"The NFL is NOT ready..." Yeah. Heard the same thing regarding Chip Kelly. Good one! Kingsbury's NFL career will be even shorter and more futile. As for Murray, he's a talented athlete, but he also has bust written all over him at the pro level. He's going to get hammered again and again. If he's extremely lucky, the injuries won't be career-ending and he'll be able to return to baseball.

Is this really revolutionary? Isn't Mike Leach's system just the "Run and Shoot"? The NFL did this already and we know how that ended. Brett, What's the difference?
